Arnie Bellini is coy no more about the operating status of ConnectWise and its satellite companies. In his own words, he says LabTech Software, Quosal and CharTec are “in essence…merged companies.”

The ConnectWise vision and resulting strategy is a potentially powerful suite that could create a new center of gravity in the managed services market and, ultimately, draw solution providers away from competitors.

The notion that ConnectWise “merged” with complementary companies is something about which many in the channel have whispered for some time, but no one openly talked about. Not only is Bellini, co-founder and CEO of ConnectWise, open about the merger status, he’s embracing it as the foundation of a converged yet open suite of applications that automate IT business management. He believes this converged suite is the future of the channel.

“The world is about integration and not being told which products should be used,” he tells Channelnomics. “The IT Nation is a suite-of-choice, but someone has to drive the interoperability. We’re going to drive that through fair competition.”

At the IT Nation conference earlier this month, Bellini laid out the roadmap for further integration of LabTech’s remote monitoring and management software, Quosal’s sales management and proposal quoting tools with ConnectWise to form a triad of automated capabilities needed by every solution provider. The result will be a suite of products that operates well together but remains open for integration with third-party competitors.

While ConnectWise owns none of these companies, its investment arm – ConnectWise Capital – owns substantial shares in each. And, increasingly, ConnectWise is opening up about its relationship with these companies, saying they’re virtually merged and share common technology development roadmaps, sales strategies and resources, and go-to-market strategies.
