GreenPages Leads CA’s Cloud Partner Pack
GreenPages Technology Solutions stepped out this week as the first U.S. integration partner for CA Technologies Private Cloud Accelerator for vBlock Platforms, which launched just a couple of weeks ago.
The significance for GreenPages and other channel partners is the cloud solution’s promise of out-of-the-box standardized processes that allow IT organizations to deliver Vblock Infrastructure Platforms-as-a-service (IaaS).
CTO John Ross said GreenPages is combining its Integration and Managed Services with the CA Private Cloud Accelerator for vBlock Platforms to turn around private cloud capabilities faster – days instead of months.
“As we help our customers move to a cloud-based computing model, the ability to quickly and predictably provision and deliver critical IT and business services is crucial,” said Ross.
GreenPages, based in Kittery, Maine, is recognized for placing early bets by investing in cloud computing several years ago. Now a CA Platinum Partner, GreenPages is also authorized to deliver CA’s other four vBlock Ready solutions.
Ross says GreenPages was talking with its customers about cloud computing three years ago – long before many believed the model was viable. “Now the cloud is permeating every area of IT, and our early preparation and strategic thinking are enabling us to help organizations revolutionize their IT enterprises,” said Ross.
MSPs use cloud management software to enable their IaaS offerings. Many organizations are evaluating and testing converged private cloud architectures, such as vBlock Platforms, that allow IT resources to be pooled dynamically and shared across multiple physical and virtual computing environments.
IDC analyst Mary Johnston Turner says that over the next two years, “IT has high expectations for the economic, productivity and performance benefits that can be achieved by using automation, orchestration and self service provisioning to optimize resource consumption and IT workflows across private cloud environments.”
CA Private Cloud Accelerator for vBlock Platforms is designed to address such expectations by offering standardization, a rapid provisioning process and performance predictability.
“GreenPages is an important cloud integration partner for us because they truly understand the benefits and challenges that organizations now face as they automate their data center capabilities,” said Adam Famularo, general manager for CA’s Enterprise and Cloud Solutions division.
CA Private Cloud Accelerator for vBlock Platforms leverages CA Process Automation and CA Service Catalog to give customers a single, unified view and point of control across virtual and private cloud resources.
Cloud Accelerator is CA’s fifth solution certified for use with VCE vBlock Infrastructure Platforms, all of which are based on CA Technologies Unified Automation solutions. CA also recently introduced 12 vBlock-ready products that include service management, virtualization, automation, service assurance and capacity management.
CA Service Catalog, meanwhile, is an online portal that allows partners to select and provision resources needed. CA Process Automation aims to ensure pooled resources are provisioned quickly, with minimal effort. Service usage is metered and associated to departments, cost centers, or users for billing or chargeback.
“We continue to work with VCE to help customers improve business agility, reduce risk and lower the costs of operating private clouds,” said CA’s Famularo.
