Dell KACE, Bomgar Partner on Remote Support

MSPs, VARs and IT admins leveraging Dell KACE technology will get a boost from Bomgar Corp. In a new partnership with Dell KACE, new Bomgar customers will be able to outfit their Dell KACE K1000 Management Appliance with two free remote support licenses, either by purchasing Bomgar’s on-premise appliance or subscribing to Bomgar’s hosted solution.

Bomgar offers a range of remote diagnostic capabilities, allowing for centralized support capabilities for enhanced maintenance of SLAs, in addition to promoting overall operating efficiency. This solution is unique in its ability to remotely support many of today’s most popular platforms, including Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS, Android and BlackBerry OS.

Dell KACE explains, “Customers will be able to choose from two of Bomgar’s integrated offerings – two free hosted licenses or two free standard or enterprise licenses with the purchase of Bomgar’s on-premise appliance (new Bomgar customers only).”

With this combined solution pack, remote support sessions can be initiated directly from the KACE service desk, thanks to that integration. Remote support can still be leveraged outside the company network thanks to the Bomgar Jump Client, a tiny piece of software that allows complete remote control between any two computers on any network. This connection is made secure and, like a local connection, the support session is recorded to ensure a proper audit trail. If a company installs the software in the data center, all networked machines are then fully capable of being connected without the client-side software.

As previously mentioned, Bomgar comes in two flavors, on-premise and hosted. For those leveraging the on-premise system, the software will sit behind the firewall and provide all the aforementioned control capabilities. It will also allow for some unique security features, like granular remote access control and collaborative support sessions. Customers choosing the hosted solution will have quick and easy access to remote control capabilities to nearly any device, even if it lives outside the network entirely. File transfers, live chat and even presentation tools can be leveraged remotely.

With support so often being a key differentiator for MSPs and solution providers, Dell KACE and Bomgar are offering a package that can help MSPs streamline support with less technology than it would normally require to access a host of systems remotely. Considering the pace at which mobile devices are proliferating through the enterprise, the ability to remotely manage and configure iOS and Android is a smart asset, especially when complemented with leading MDM solutions.
