A giant in the world of pre-owned IT gear, Network Hardware Resale LLC, has launched an attack on the wider server and storage market worldwide.

The Santa Barbara, Calif.-based reseller is now offering new and pre-owned servers, storage and related upgrades from IBM Corp., Dell Inc., Oracle Corp.’s Sun unit and Hewlett-Packard Co. to customers around the world. Component upgrades will be available “from all major OEMs,” the company said.

Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of Network Hardware Resale, said the reseller has had 25 years’ experience in providing networking and related kit.

“The launch of our servers business is a natural evolution of our brand and a direct response to our understanding of the pain points and needs expressed by our customers,” he claimed.

“With the addition of these new offerings, businesses all over the world can take advantage of a hybrid approach of using new and pre-owned equipment to optimize strategic investments that will help manage the data deluge, while expanding the footprint of their network infrastructure at lower cost.”

The need for greater processing power and storage meant more firms would be looking for ways to boost their infrastructure for less, the company said. Network Hardware Resale also announced it is expanding its NetSure maintenance program globally to include support for “all major server brands”.

It has a testing facility certified to the ISO9001:2008 and TL9000 standards for testing, customer service and order fulfillment, it said. It promises 24/7 global technical support and next-business-day, four-hour, on-site spares.

“Network Hardware Resale’s quality management system is third-party verified to be among the best in the world,” according to the company.
