Cisco Launches Managed Threat Defense Service


Data is a company’s greatest asset, and with that in mind Cisco Systems Inc. this week launched its Managed Threat Defense, a managed security solution that applies real-time, predictive analytics to detect attacks and protect against advanced malware across customers’ extended networks. This on-premises solution monitors, captures and analyses threat with its three pronged approach of hardware, software and analytics, and offers escalation and remediation recommendations. Other features of Managed Threat Defense include protection against unknown attacks using real-time streaming telemetry; Hadoop 2.0 leveraging for predictive analytics to uncover internal suspicious activity; incident tracking and reporting via subscription services; and Cisco’s Cloud Web Security for e-mail and Web filtering.

Kaspersky Intros Virtualization Product


Even as its management shakeup continues to make headlines, Kaspersky Lab ZAO is bringing to market its latest virtualization security solution: Kaspersky Security for Virtualization – Light Agent, the company’s first solution specifically designed for Citrix Systems Inc. and Microsoft Corp. virtualization platforms., in addition to VMware Inc. platforms. The Light Agent solution brings extra security features, including application controls and Web usage policy enforcement, to virtualization environments. The protection and performance benefits of Kaspersky Lab’s light agent solution offer the “best of both worlds” over existing agentless and agent-based virtualization security models, according to the company.

EarthLink Launches Secure WiFi Service


IT and communications provider EarthLink has launched its Secure WiFi™ service, which features a wireless intrusion prevention system for health care and financial service providers. EarthLink Secure WiFi features visibility into mobile WiFi usage and traffic statistics to help clients analyze customer behavior and preferences. The plug-and play system does not require an IT staff or training, and is PCI, HIPAA, GBLA and SOX compliant with detailed reporting options. “With EarthLink Secure WiFi, our clients can roll out applications to connect with those consumers and securely enable mobile transactions, while gathering valuable data for marketing and operations,” said Greg Griffiths, EarthLink VP of retail solutions.

Satmetrix Debuts Cloud-based Customer Experience Management Solution


Satmetrix announced its Satmetrix Standard — a self-service, cloud-based solution for small and mid-sized businesses interested in developing customer experience management programs based on the Net Promoter Score methodology. Satmetrix Standard is built on the Satmetrix cloud platform, and includes Net Promoter analytics, expertise and customizable templates. The product offers three end-user licenses, two survey program touch points, and up to 15,000 responses a year. Satmetrix Standard allows businesses to benchmark customer experience and satisfaction scores against some of the world’s biggest and most successful brands through the company’s annual NPS Benchmark reports.
