The storage appliance vendor says the number of registered partners in its worldwide channel network surged in 2011. Drawing new partners in is a combination of product features and channel programs that made sales easier and more profitable. It shows that technology and channel programs cannot stand independently.

When Kaseya wanted to penetrate deeper into the financial services market with its IT automation solutions, it turned to one of its managed services partners – Safe Systems – for the technology solutions and know-how. The result, Kaseya is now a reseller for one of its MSPs.

Vendors see the need to create holistic technology solutions to combat commoditization and maintain affinity with end users. Some channel partners may see this as potentially disruptive to their business, but vendors’ move toward solutions could provide stronger technology foundations for resellers and integrators.
