DXC Expands Global Microsoft Business Via Acquisition
IT service provider takes on Nordic-based EG A/S
DXC Technology has announced its intent to combine EG A/S, an integrator focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365, with its DXC Eclipse business.
The Lowdown: DXC Eclipse is a Microsoft Gold partner that delivers the software vendor’s Dynamics 365, CRM, ERP, analytics, business process, and collaboration solutions both in the cloud and on-premise. The Tysons, Virginia-based IT service company has locations around the world and focuses on helping customers achieve digital transformation.
The Details: Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, and with a strong presence in the Nordic region, EG specializes in Microsoft Dynamics. The company has about 570 employees throughout Denmark, Norway, Poland, and Sweden. DXC’s acquisition of EG’s service business would include its Microsoft Dynamics, Infor M3, and SAP practices.
The Impact: “The combination of EG with DXC Eclipse will extend DXC’s leadership as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 systems integrator, greatly enhancing our ability to address client needs in the Nordic region and globally,” said Mike Lawrie, chairman, president, and CEO of DXC. “This also represents a significant investment for DXC in the Nordics, which is recognized as one of the most digitally capable areas in the world.”
The Buzz: “The acquisition of EG’s service division will significantly enhance DXC’s Microsoft and SAP practices in the Nordic region,” said Joergen Jakobsen, vice president, Northern Europe, at DXC Technology. “DXC will gain a strong, skilled workforce and a solid customer base – which will further extend DXC’s position as a leading IT-service provider in the Nordics.”
“In DXC Technology, we have found a strategic partner with significant global capabilities that will benefit EG’s customers as they embark on their digital transformation journeys,” said Mikkel Bardram, CEO of EG. “In addition, EG’s employees will have an opportunity to contribute to the growth of DXC’s Microsoft Dynamics practice.”
“This acquisition of DXC is one more step to keep delivering value and innovation to customers that expect the highest array of solutions and expertise [for] their digital transformation journey,” said Nuno Duarte, vice president of sales, marketing, and operations at Microsoft Western Europe. “This particular acquisition in the Microsoft Dynamics area hoists another area of value and proficiency to DXC, reinforcing their position as one of the leading global systems integrators in Western Europe.”
