Broadens talent bench with three new appointments
The San Francisco-based provider of customer service and engagement products has reaped some substantial former talent from big-name vendors, hiring its first Chief Customer Officer and naming two execs to the posts of CIO and senior vice president of product management.
The Lowdown: Elisabeth Zornes, formerly general manager of global support for Microsoft Office, will take on the newly minted role of CCO at Zendesk. Ex-Adobe exec Colleen Berube will be CIO, and Shawna Wolverton, formerly of Salesforce, will assume the title of senior vice president of product management.
The Details: Zendesk continues to expand its leadership team in a quest to support its global growth and achieve its long-term goal of becoming a multibillion-dollar company.
As Chief Customer Officer, Zornes will represent Zendesk’s 125,000 paid customer accounts, charged with leading the teams that help end users maximize the benefits of the company’s product portfolio. She brings two decades of leadership experience in customer support, operations, and services.
Berube, also a leadership veteran, worked formerly for Adobe, Fisher Investments, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Wolverton was most recently chief product officer at Planet; before that, she was senior vice president for product management at Salesforce, where she oversaw all platform development.
The Buzz: “Never have we seen customer expectations or technology changing as rapidly as it is today,” said Mikkel Svane, founder and CEO of Zendesk. “We are thrilled to be adding these proven enterprise leaders to Zendesk so we can help more companies around the world transform their customer experiences.”
