Vendor looks to recruit partners with networking and security chops, vertical specializations
Security platform maker Comodo Cybersecurity this week unveiled a new partner program as it looks to focus exclusively on the channel and energize partners that sell security in the SMB market.
The Lowdown: Since spinning out its well-known digital certificate authorities business to Sectigo in 2017, Comodo has focused on its malware defense and threat intelligence offerings. To get partners on board with selling security into the SME and SMB marketplace, the new partner program is offering a flexible, multi-tier structure with new certifications and training, as well as separate tracks for managed service providers and technology partners such as OEMs, systems integrators, and alliance partners.
The company also inked a new distribution deal with Synnex, to handle fulfillment for lower-tier, transactional partners, company officials said.
The Details: Specifically, the new Comodo partner program offers:
• Defined program tiers and mutual responsibilities: Authorized partners get online deal registration to protect qualified accounts and agreements that provide a sliding scale of margin enhancements and other incentives commensurate with partner investment.
• Sales and support enablement: Online training and certification programs, co-branded sales and marketing program materials, evaluation products, guided demos, and joint lead-generation programs are available to augment go-to-market strategy.
• Prepackaged and customizable professional services: 24×7 partner technical portal is available to support sales and marketing communication.
The Buzz: “Comodo will seek to become the most trusted partner for protecting organizations from the increasing threat of cyber breaches,” said Rebecca Myrick, vice president of worldwide channel strategy, sales, and operations at Comodo. “Modern security is beyond the capability of many midmarket and SMB customers. Comodo, together with our partners, is committed to providing complete security solutions to these customers.”
