New Portnox Sphere program aims to energize service providers looking to bring cloud-based network access control to SMEs
Cloud NAC specialist Portnox this week rolled out Portnox Sphere, a new global channel program aimed at MSPs and MSSPs looking for midmarket opportunities in the growing NAC-as-a-Service space.
The Lowdown: Portnox’s stated goal with the Sphere MSP/MSSP program is to make it easier for mid-tier organizations with limited IT resources to acquire network access control (NAC) as a subscription service from qualified and trusted providers they may already be working with. Cost, complexity, and ongoing management of traditional NAC solutions keep many SMEs from deploying what is generally considered a foundational network security technology, Portnox officials said.
The Details: Portnox Sphere for MSPs and MSSPs features:
• Lower administrative overhead with flexible payment options and no up-front costs
• Centralized management for all customers via a unified management portal with single-sign-on, customization, and configuration for each MSP client
• Discounts based on total devices under management and additional MSP partnership-level discounts
• Documented RESTful API and tailored security stacks customized to specific customer and partner requirements
• Sales tools and dedicated marketing support
• Dedicated customer support resources for partners
Background: According to industry research firm MarketsandMarkets, the global managed security services market was worth $21 billion in 2017 and is expected to reach $47 billion by 2023 — an annual growth rate of nearly 15 percent.
The Buzz: “Midsize enterprises are choosing Portnox because our technology can be deployed on-premises or as a cloud service, supports any device from all access layers, and eliminates the management complexity of other network access control products,” said Portnox CEO and co-founder Ofer Amitai. “We expect to extend our market lead in 2019 as more managed service providers adopt our cloud-delivered CLEAR product to offer NAC-as-a-Service.”
“Today’s world is about mobility and cloud-centric work environments. Often, Wi-Fi is a vehicle for these connections. Our customers are battling to keep up with the growing number of on-premise and remote devices they are required to maintain and manage. To that end, network access control has become the gotta-have technology for these customers,” said Niccolo Alicandri, Chief Business Officer at CipherTechs. “The Portnox CLEAR technology enables our clients to enforce NAC from the cloud to businesses anywhere in the United States.”
“Since employees access corporate data from managed and unmanaged devices, network access control has become top-of-mind with many of our partners,” said Nathan Heintzeman, an analyst at Symplexity. “Portnox CLEAR minimizes the complexity of NAC, while providing in-depth security, visibility, and device risk management.”
