Vendor aims to pack acquired network traffic visibility features into its Insight cloud offering
Rapid7 today announced the acquisition of NetFort, a purveyor of network traffic visibility and analytics across cloud, virtual, and physical networks. Rapid7 plans to bring NetFort’s network monitoring, visibility, and analytics capabilities into its Insight cloud platform.
The Lowdown: Bringing NetFort’s monitoring and visibility capabilities into Insight will allow the security analytics and automation vendor to pack more data and analytics into a single platform, and broaden the solution’s ability to detect attacks, investigate incidents, and root out devices that pose a risk.
The Details: Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is not expected to have a material financial impact on Rapid7’s previously disclosed growth, revenue, operating income, or income per share for 2019, officials said.
The Buzz: “We were immediately impressed by NetFort’s technology and the deep network protocol expertise inherent across the team,” said Lee Weiner, chief product officer at Rapid7. “By bringing NetFort’s network data and analytics to our own platform, we enhance security analysts’ capability to unearth risk, detect attacks, and investigate incidents more effectively.”
“We are delighted to join Rapid7 and believe this is a testament to the capabilities of our people and our technology,” said NetFort CEO John Brosnan. “Rapid7 will help us apply our network data insights across their cloud-based platform to improve the security posture of our customers.”
