Inks deal with NTT Communications, presses on with global expansion
The provider of cloud management software has forged an alliance with Tokyo-based NTT to fuel SMB adoption of Microsoft Office 365 in Japan.
The Lowdown: SkyKick is teaming up with NTT, the biggest telecom in Japan and one of the largest worldwide, to accelerate SMB transitions to the Microsoft cloud. As part of the agreement between the two companies, NTT will introduce new O365 data migration and protection solutions powered by SkyKick’s Migration Suites for Office 365 and Cloud Backup for Office 365.
The Details: In March, SkyKick launched QuantumSync, which offers enhanced security, as well as performance improvements of two to four times over Migration Suites. Meanwhile, SkyKick’s Cloud Backup protects migrated data and allows it to be easily restored across Exchange/Outlook e-mail, SharePoint and OneDrive files, Office 365 Groups, and Microsoft Teams.
NTT, already one of Microsoft’s largest regional Office 365 partners, will sell SkyKick’s solutions directly to end users and through IT solution providers in a bid to expand O365 adoption. The information and communications service provider has set aggressive goals based on increased market demand for cloud productivity and backup.
Background: With offices in four continents – Asia (Tokyo), Australia (Sydney), Europe (Amsterdam and London), and North America (Seattle) – SkyKick delivers SaaS cloud management and backup solutions through solution and service providers around the globe.
According to a study by telecom CenturyLink, cloud computing is expected to generate $411 billion globally by 2020. The 2018 Cloud Adoption report from Bitglass, a cloud security company, says global cloud adoption is more than 81%, with Microsoft steadily increasing its share of the market.
The Buzz: “SkyKick is excited to partner with NTT Communications to support their new service launch, which will give NTT a first-of-a-kind Office 365 cloud management offering in Japan,” said SkyKick co-CEO Todd Schwartz. “This new service packages SkyKick’s award-winning Migration Suites and Cloud Backup services to give NTT’s end customers a fast, efficient, and secure Office 365 migration experience as well as extra data protection after migration.”
Added fellow SkyKick CEO Evan Richman: “SkyKick has had immense growth internationally in the past 24 months, and we remain focused on meeting the unique needs of global IT solution providers. This agreement with NTT Communications is the latest example of our commitment to accelerating cloud growth globally and delivering enhanced value for the Microsoft channel. NTT’s huge influence and importance in the region makes it an ideal partner, and we couldn’t be more excited about collaborating with them to help accelerate digital transformation in Japan.”
