Rebranded CloudSolv marketplace, now called Stellr, looks to unify cloud, mobility, and IoT solutions
Saying its CloudSolv moniker was too limiting in the age of digital convergence and transformation, Synnex this week rebranded its cloud and mobility business unit henceforth to be known as Stellr. The disty also inked a deal to offer Workforce by Facebook to its cadre of IT solution providers.
The Lowdown: Synnex officials said the new Stellr name better reflects the distributor‘s ability to “implement emerging technologies to solve real business problems in an era of disruptive digital transformation.” The rebrand comes with a host of program enhancements, including a new portal interface, to be followed by an updated Website with access to a new virtual learning center. Other new features will be rolled out over the course of the next year, officials said.
The Details: Also this week, Synnex signed the first U.S. distribution deal to bring Workplace by Facebook to the IT channel. Currently in use by more than two million customers, Workplace uses familiar Facebook features like chat, video calling, posts, and groups to connect employees in an organization. Workplace also uses smart technology like machine learning to surface relevant content in real time to employees, officials said.
Workplace will be available next week as part of the rebranded Stellr cloud community.
The Buzz: “Stellr guides partners to what’s next before their customers even know what questions to ask,” said Rob Moyer, senior vice president of cloud services, mobility, and IoT at Synnex. “Our vision for Stellr is to help our partners navigate, thrive, and prosper in this era of digital transformation. We are building a modern marketplace that simply and easily aggregates and implements the best custom technology solutions to solve real business challenges.
“We are excited to lead partners through this digital era with an end-to-end ecosystem that will help deliver more innovative solutions to end-users,” Moyer said.
On the Workplace by Facebook front, Moyer added: “Adding Workplace is an important step in the evolution of our cloud, mobility, and IoT business, as well as our commitment to helping customers digitally transform their businesses. The immediate value organizations see in this product, coupled with the fact that it’s built on intelligent tech, makes it a great option for customers seeking a mobile-first, app-based offering for workplace collaboration.”
