Company officials say the Series A funding led by Digital Alpha Advisors will help it advance its “unique technologies,” which allow MSPs and cloud service providers (CSPs) to deliver continuous data protection and DRaaS to enterprises, government agencies, and research and educational organizations.
The Lowdown: The round of funding – also supported by Illuminate Ventures and JetStream’s private and institutional seed investors – will bolster the vendor’s development of products and go-to-market strategies, as well as its engagement with strategic partners.
The Details: JetStream officials said the company is the first to market with cloud-native products that were developed specifically for disaster recovery, data protection, and business continuity, enabling service providers to deliver near-zero recovery point and recovery time objectives.
The software leverages continuous data replication through VMware vSphere IO filters and is compatible with any type of data store, including traditional block or file storage, any hyperconverged infrastructure, and VMware Virtual SAN or Virtual Volumes.
With JetStream DR, MSPs and CSPs can realize cloud economics with their disaster recovery offerings and allow customers to reap the benefits of cloud-based DR – better performance, more convenient adoption and management, and reduced cost of ownership.
The Buzz: “Digital Alpha brings unique advantages to our business and a strategic vision that sees our business leading the enormous transformation that is happening in our industry,” said Tom Critser, CEO of JetStream. “The Digital Alpha portfolio is characterized by game-changing players in cloud transformation, and we will benefit greatly from Digital Alpha’s financial support, shared strategic vision, and deep industry relationships.”
“We’re excited to invest in a team providing a highly differentiated technology with critical advantages for DR and business continuity as the market becomes increasingly cloud-centric,” said Rick Shrotri, managing partner of Digital Alpha. “JetStream Software has developed a unique data management platform that will play a key role in the cloud transformation of the data protection industry.”
