Aims to make smart buildings even smarter
Santa Clara, California-based ioTium, which provides a software-defined converged infrastructure for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), announced yesterday that it’s validated edge applications from three partners – Cohesion, SkyFoundry, and ThoughtWire – to optimize the “building occupancy experience.”
The Lowdown: By gathering building data from sensors and funneling it to partners’ clouds, those applications, deployed on the ioTium Edge Gateway, deliver insights to building personnel about conference room availability, HVAC systems, lighting, parking meters, security, and more.
The Details: Assessing occupancy experience allows commercial properties to develop and offer new services, improve resource tracking and space management, and increase energy efficiency.
The ioTium Edge Partner Program, a cornerstone of the company’s go-to-market strategy, enables rapid, secure deployment of partners’ edge applications, accelerating digital transformation.
The Buzz: “IoTium is at the forefront of digital transformation in buildings, which enables an occupancy experience worthy of the 21st century,” said Ron Victor, founder and CEO of ioTium. “With our partner ecosystem, we help customers gather, analyze, and act on data received, contributing to a world-class occupancy experience.”
“We’re excited to be part of ioTium’s partner ecosystem, which brings together the leading organizations in the industry,” said Mike Monteith, CEO of ThoughtWire. “Together, we’re pushing past the boundaries of traditional building environments to collect data that will create secure, intuitive, and intelligent spaces.”
