Kicks off partner initiative
The cybersecurity asset management company announced today that it’s taken on Lenny Zeltzer as vice president of product, added Gil Zimmerman to its advisory board, and hired John McCabe to head its channel program out of the gate.
The Lowdown: McCabe assumes the role of senior director of worldwide channels and alliances, marking the official launch of Axonius’ partner program.
The Details: In that role, McCabe will drive growth of the initiative, which now includes inaugural partners Apollo Information Systems, GuidePoint Security, and SBS Security. According to company officials, the company’s goal is to build “a regional and national portfolio of distribution partners that accelerates long-term sales and revenue goals.”
Before joining Axonius, McCabe was senior director of global MSSPs for Cofense. Before that, he oversaw mid-Atlantic enterprise and commercial sales at FireEye, where he also implemented a global MSSP program and managed partnerships with industry leaders – including GuidePoint Security, Presidio, Sirius, and Trustwave – as director of MSSP business development.
In the meantime, Zeltser, who joins Axonius as vice president of product, teaches at the SANS Institute, helping to shape global cybersecurity practices and sharing his knowledge through community projects, public speaking, and writing. He’s also on the board of directors at the SANS Technology Institute. Zimmerman, who leads cloud security market expansion strategy at Cisco, joins Axonius’ advisory board.
Background: Axonius officials say the company’s cybersecurity asset management platform gives businesses comprehensive asset inventory, uncovers security solution coverage gaps, and automatically validates and enforces security policies. The platform integrates with more than 125 security and management solutions.
The Buzz: “The interest we’ve seen in 2019 from security professionals looking to solve asset management once and for all has been astounding,” said Dean Sysman, CEO and co-founder of Axonius, New York. “We’ve already expanded [annual recurring revenue] by more than 145 percent from the beginning of the year, on-boarded our first Fortune 500 customers, and expanded into additional verticals including health care, financial services, tech, manufacturing, media, non-profit, insurance, and more. …Today’s announcement demonstrates our commitment to product innovation, working with channel partners, and solving the asset management challenge for as many organizations as possible.”
Joe Hoban, vice president of sales at Axonius, commented on the hire of McCabe to spearhead the company’s channel operations: “John’s demonstrable success in channel and MSSP program execution is indisputable. His pragmatic approach will not only help us grow exponentially but also formalize and strengthen relationships with best-in-class technology companies we integrate with every day.”
