Controls for virtual machines now part of vendor’s Hybrid Cloud Security suite
Looking to satisfy the demand for efficient and scalable defenses for virtualized systems, Kaskpersky this week introduced an enhanced version of its Virtualization Light Agent. The solution is being folded into Kaspersky’s Hybrid Cloud Security offerings and will be available through the Kaspersky Security Center console.
The Lowdown: The new Kaspersky Security for Virtualization Light Agent supports deployments of up to 100,000 virtual servers and desktops and includes an advanced version of the company’s Security Virtual Machines (SVM) discovery and selection for greater flexibility, easier deployment, more reliable failover, and better automatic load balancing.
The Details: Virtualization Light Agent now offers protection for Windows Servers with the same security feature set as Kaspersky’s Endpoint Security for Business, including exploit prevention and behavior detection. Admins can also now automate deployment and configuration of new Security Virtual Machines using hypervisor deployment capabilities via API.
The Buzz: “As many analysts have predicted, cloud infrastructure in business is growing, allowing organizations to save resources and operate more efficiently,” said Andrey Pozhogin, senior B2B product marketing manager at Kaspersky. “Cloud security allows businesses to scale up like never before, but also poses a challenge for IT security managers as they need to keep all parts of their infrastructure secure without slowing systems down. Our Kaspersky Security for Virtualization Light Agent does just that by introducing an essential level of manageability and scalability in tandem with our tried and true proven security features.”
