Former Attunity president Mark Logan takes over for longtime chief Andy Grolnick
One year into majority ownership by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, LogRhythm is shaking up the corner office with industry veteran Mark Logan stepping in and longtime CEO Andy Grolnick headed out.
The Lowdown: The next-gen SIEM vendor made the personnel announcement Tuesday, the latest in a series of recent executive moves that include the addition of Sue Buck as senior vice president of engineering and Barry Capoot as CFO.
LogRhythm issued a press release detailing Logan’s hire, but did not mention Grolnick by name or give any reason for replacing him.
The Details: In addition to his leadership role at Attunity, Logan has more than 25 years of technology industry experience, having served in management positions at WealthEngine (CEO), Rivermine (CEO), Emptoris (COO), Peoplesoft (GM), and JD Edwards (GM).
Background: Thoma Bravo acquired a majority interest in LogRhythm in May 2018 for just over $500 million. At the time, Grolnick, who served as CEO since 2005, said “LogRhythm believes it has found an ideal partner in Thoma Bravo. We believe this is an exciting strategic step forward for our company.”
The Buzz: “I am thrilled to step into this role and have the opportunity to work with an organization that has LogRhythm’s impressive track record of innovation and market leadership,” said new CEO Logan. “LogRhythm’s customers run some of the most sophisticated and effective enterprise security operations in the world, and the LogRhythm platform is an indispensable part of how they detect, investigate, and neutralize advanced threats. I look forward to working closely with our customers and business partners to drive our shared success to new levels.”
“Mark has decades of experience successfully building and leading global enterprise software and SaaS companies,” said Chip Virnig, a partner at Thoma Bravo. “That experience, combined with his focus on customer success, solution innovation, and company culture, makes him the ideal leader for LogRhythm. Mark has a tremendous reputation as an executive manager, and he shares our vision for the SIEM, UEBA, NDR, and SOAR markets where LogRhythm continues to be a trailblazer.”
