Vendors will develop cloud connectivity solutions for resellers
Adaptiv Networks and SkySwitch are pulling together their networking and communications expertise to create cloud connectivity solutions that SkySwitch resellers will be able to sell to their customers.
The Lowdown: Both companies are 100% channel-driven in markets that expect to see fast growth in the coming years. Adaptiv delivers software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) solutions through its partner network, while SkySwitch is a white-label provider of Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) offerings.
The Details: The two vendors were short on details about the strategic relationship announced this week.
Adaptiv’s SD-WAN offerings include such features as automatic site failover to protect against service interruptions when outages hit, multi-link aggregation to ensure network traffic runs over the fastest connection, intelligent cloud gateways to manage inbound and outbound cloud traffic, and cloud-based management.
SkySwitch offers a broad array of services, from Webconferencing and video surveillance to Call Center-as-a-Service (CCaaS) and virtual fax. Its Web Centrix platform is a white-label service for resellers that that’s telecommunications service provider-neutral and features high scalability, reliability, and redundancy capabilities.
The Impact: The 17-year-old Adaptiv has more than 200 customers and more than 2,500 sites deployed via its 25 partners in North America. SkySwitch offers its white-label services to a wide range of channel players, including MSPs, agents, ISPs, VARs, and wireless Internet services providers (WISPs).
Background: Both companies play in booming spaces. The SD-WAN segment is among the fastest growing in the larger software-defined networking (SDN) market. IDC analysts expect it to grow almost 31% a year between 2018 and 2023, when it will reach $5.25 billion. Transparency Market Research says the UCaaS market will reach $79.3 billion by 2024.
The Buzz: “SkySwitch strives to bring best-in-class solutions to our resellers,” said Eric Hernaez, SkySwitch founder and president. “With the demand for software-defined network services on the rise, SkySwitch has made the strategic decision to align with a company that leads the market. Adaptiv Networks stands out with powerful, frictionless cloud connectivity services. We couldn’t be more excited to unite on upcoming projects for our SkySwitch reseller community than we are to be working with Adaptiv Networks.”
“This partnership enables us to combine the productivity of UCaaS with the network visibility and control of Adaptiv SD-WAN into a simple solution channel partners can trust,” said Adaptiv CEO Bernard Breton. “Both companies rely exclusively on channel sales, which means partners have zero risk of competing directly against their solution vendor.”
