Alliance follows company’s deal with Avaya
Fresh off its deal with Avaya, communications solution vendor RingCentral is teaming up with distributor Synnex to develop a new solution around unified communications (UC) and contact centers for Synnex’s U.S. channel partners.
The Lowdown: RingCentral will be able to leverage Synnex’s 25,000 reseller partners to expand the reach of its cloud-based communications platform, which includes voice, videoconferencing, team messaging, online meetings, and customer engagement.
The Details: RingCentral is aggressively pursuing partnerships to grow the presence of its UC-as-a-Service (UCaaS) offerings both in the United States and globally. Through the partnership announced with Avaya earlier this month, the two companies will develop new products and programs for both of their channel partners and salesforces.
For Synnex partners, the alliance between the distributor and RingCentral will mean new solutions to sell into a fast-growing cloud communications market driven by the continued rise of an increasingly distributed workforce.
The Impact: The agreements with Synnex and Avaya are only the most recent ones for RingCentral. In August, the company announced an alliance with UC solution provider Converged Technology Professionals. The company also is looking to grow globally, striking deals with cloud communications and contact center solution provider Westcon in a master agent partnership that initially is aimed at the U.K. and Ireland markets but with plans to extend throughout Europe, and with Fujitsu, which also will stretch across Europe.
In May, RingCentral signed a partnership deal with TechnologyOne in Australia.
Background: RingCentral is looking to become a larger player in a UCaaS market that’s crowded with such vendors as Cisco, 8×8, Fuze, IBM, Microsoft, and West Corp. Analysts with Transparency Market Research are expecting the market to growth at 29.4% a year, from about $8.23 billion in 2015 to $79.3 billion by 2024.
The Buzz: “Our channel partners are inundated with customers asking for Unified Communications-as-a-Service (UCaaS) and Contact Center-as-a-Service (CCaaS) solutions,” said Zane Long, senior vice president of global channel sales for RingCentral. “By working with a master agent like Synnex, we’re able to scale our reach in the channel community, helping more partners bring their customers our leading solutions. We’re excited to be working with Synnex and look forward to collaborating with their global base of partners in the future.”
“Our strategy is built around helping customers transition from traditional on-premise unified communications to today’s new cloud solutions market,” said TJ Trojan, senior vice president of product management for North America at Synnex. “RingCentral aligns well with our strategy by delivering cohesive solutions that help businesses effectively communicate across the globe from a single platform.”
