GovCybersecurityHub offers information about trends, policies, technologies
Cybersecurity professionals in the public sector have a new source of information and other resources in GovCybersecurityHub, an online forum created by DLT Solutions and CrowdStrike.
The Lowdown: GovCybersecurityHub, which launched earlier this month, is designed to be a central place that includes information about cybersecurity trends, technologies, and regulations dealing with network, device, and application security.
The Details: The site is the second such one run by DLT, a technology solutions aggregator for organizations and agencies in the public sector, part of its GovHub lineup of online forums. The other is GovDesignHub, which deals with computer-aided design and building information modeling.
GovCybersecurityHub includes information about the governance and policies that are being used, or should be used, by public agencies and departments to best protect sensitive data. In addition, it also includes best practices and thought leadership information from security experts.
CrowdStrike, which sells its Falcon cloud-based endpoint protection platform, is partnering with DLT on the creation of GovCybersecurityHub and is the forum’s foundational sponsor.
Background: Cybersecurity continues to be a focus for federal government agencies, which, like their private-sector counterparts, are dealing with an increasingly sophisticated and well-funded cybercriminal community. Market Research Media is forecasting the market to grow at about 12% a year in the coming years, staying above $20 billion.
The Buzz: “We saw an opportunity to help cybersecurity professionals within the government, and our channel and vendor ecosystem, get the information and resources they need to stay on top of the latest cybersecurity trends, including protecting against the advancement of evolving cyberthreats, adopting best practices, and maintaining compliance with key programs and policies,” DLT President Brian Strosser said.” The GovCybersecurityHub fills that void and also helps cybersecurity professionals navigate the hundreds of cybersecurity tools available in the market to best meet their mission objectives.”
“We are excited to be the foundational sponsor for the latest GovHub from DLT,” said James Yeager, vice president of public sector for CrowdStrike. “Cybersecurity threats from sophisticated adversaries continue to evolve on a daily basis, and it’s critical that the government remains informed on new developments in the field to remain proactive in their fight against cybercriminals. By featuring CrowdStrike content on the GovCybersecurityHub, the public sector will now have a central location where it can easily access the latest developments in cutting-edge endpoint security to help inform government leaders with actionable insights to stay ahead of the covert actions of adversaries.”
