Vendor offering special pricing for cybersecurity products and services
Cybersecurity vendor Blackpoint Cyber wants to help MSPs protect their internal networks against cyberattacks through special pricing for the company’s technology and services.
The Lowdown: Through its new MSP Protect program, Blackpoint Cyber is offering MSPs new pricing for its SNAP-Defense cybersecurity platform and 24×7 Managed Detection and Response (MDR) security service.
The Details: The SNAP-Defense platform offers a range of services, including live asset and network visibility, lateral spread detection, real-time threat protection, risk and compliance reporting, and integrated protection for IT, operational technology, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The MDR service comes with 24×7 incident monitoring, real-time threat detection and response, an initial assessment of a company’s attack surface, threat hunting, monthly reports, and a simplified price model that includes monthly billing.
The Impact: MSPs are increasingly becoming the target of cybercriminals, with Blackpoint Cyber noting public disclosures in April, June, July, and September of MSPs and their remote monitoring and management (RMM) technologies being attacked. The issue is getting increased attention, including from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, which last year issued a warning to MSPs and cloud service providers that they’re being exploited by bad actors to get to their customers.
Other industry groups and vendors also are starting to focus on the situation, with IT solution provider Continuum this month releasing a survey showing that a shortage of skilled cybersecurity talent is a key reason why MSPs and SMBs are lacking the resources they need to protect themselves.
