AutoVerify adds another layer of protection against ransomware
Axcient is introducing a capability into its business continuity and disaster recovery offerings that will help MSPs ensure that their customers’ data backups are protected, an important step in defending against such issues as ransomware.
The Lowdown: The company this week introduced AutoVerify as a feature in its BRC and Replibit BootVM offerings that will validate for MSPs and their end users the recoverability of the backup snapshots and other protected environments by detecting common problems that may arise during recovery, including bad windows updates or malware that impacts the booting of systems, and incomplete or corrupt backups.
The Details: Axcient introduced AutoVerify in beta in August, giving some MSPs the capability to identify production servers that sustained disk corruption or other errors and to proactively address the problems before backups began.
The benefits of AutoVerify include:
> Confidence for MSPs in the recoverability of backup systems.
They can proactively fix problems and reduce the amount of time spent manually fixing issues during a recovery failover.
> Automatic detection and fixing of backup consistency problems, lowering total cost of ownership (TCO).
> Faster identification of potential backup problems.
> Alerts that can sync with such tools as remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA).
The Buzz: “With AutoVerify, Axcient is giving MSPs confidence that their last line of defense against ransomware is strong and fully tested every day,” said Ben Nowacky, senior vice president of product at Axcient. “The technology offers MSPs another line of defense to ensure their clients’ data is protected. With Axcient’s AutoVerify feature, MSPs will have peace of mind because the tool inspects protected systems and alerts MSPs if any issues arise. With the advanced technology, MSPs can focus on running their businesses and trust their technology to work for them.”
“With technology like AutoVerify, we can rest easy knowing that Axcient has built in protections for our clients’ data,” said Paul Charles, CTO at DataTrends. “We have confidence in Axcient’s solutions and appreciate that we have a vendor partner going the extra mile to make sure our clients’ businesses are up and running if the worst happens.”
