SD-WAN vendor taps seasoned tech alum to work with MSPs, telecom agents
Bigleaf Networks is continuing to build out its channel program, naming ShoreTel and Broadvoice veteran Eric Brooker as senior director of national partner programs.
The Lowdown: Brooker becomes the fifth new hire this year for the software-defined WAN company’s channel team, and officials are saying more appointments are coming.
The Details: Bigleaf is leaning heavily on MSPs as it expands its SD-WAN business. Along with the new hires, the Beaverton, Oregon-based company in June launched its MSP partner program and in September said the $21 million raised in Series B funding would be used in part to invest in its master agent channel. Much of Bigleaf’s channel focus is on MSPs and telecom agents.
Brooker’s job will be to work with Bigleaf’s master agent partners worldwide to help support those MSPs and telecom agents.
The Impact: Bigleaf’s focus has been to bring SD-WAN to SMBs and midsize enterprises, which company officials have said is an underserved market that represents a $2 billion opportunity. They estimate there are tens of thousands of MSPs serving SMBs and say their goal is to give them an SD-WAN solution they can take to their customers.
The Buzz: “My experience in the world of UCaaS made it clear that SD-WAN is a necessity,” Brooker said. “Voice and data communications are the lifeblood of a business. Our clients need to be able to interact with their customers at all times. With more services in the cloud, access to the cloud is critical, which makes SD-WAN a must for everyone. This just made sense.”
“Bigleaf’s growth in the telecom channel was built through our relationships with top master agents and their partner communities,” said Bigleaf co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer Jeff Burchett. “Eric’s experience and relationships will accelerate that growth. His expertise will drive greater engagement with our partners and enable them to find even more success with Bigleaf.”
