New VP to oversee expansion of SD-WAN provider’s partner efforts
Managed networks service provider QOS Networks has a new head for its partner program, naming Michael Brennan as vice president of channel sales.
The Lowdown: Brennan, a veteran of such companies as Windstream Communications and EarthLink, will oversee QOS’ expanding channel partnerships with a range of master agents, VARs, MSPs, and OEMs.
The Details: The U.S. Air Force veteran joins QOS, based in Irvine, California, after spending almost three years as first director and then vice president of strategic partnerships for Windstream. Prior to that, he was at EarthLink, which Windstream bought for $1.1 billion in 2016.
QOS already has agreements with a range of master agents, including Intelisys, Sandler Partners, and CNSG, and the company is putting a focus on growing these relationships and expanding the reach of the channel program and its software defined-WAN (SD-WAN) offerings.
The Impact: QOS also has a presence in a range of network areas, including the edge, Wi-Fi, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The company’s offerings give partners an array of tools for building out managed networking solutions for end users. According to QOS, the company has 20,000 active customer sites.
Background: IDC analysts are predicting the global SD-WAN space will grow at almost 31% a year, reaching $5.25 billion by 2023. The growth is being driven by enterprises that are calling for WANs that are better able to support growing cloud usage and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications and easier management of multiple types of WAN connections.
The Buzz: “I am excited to join the rapidly growing QOS team and to bring their impressive suite of network solutions to our agent community,” Brennan said. “The channel is poised for massive growth in the SD-WAN space, and I see our partners chomping at the bit to work with a tech-enabled MSP who has been working in it for years.”
“Michael brings an impressively successful track record of working with the channel community to design and develop their network solutions practices,” said QOS CEO Frank Cittadino. “We’re excited to welcome him to the team and to expand our reach within the channel.”
