SonicWall Brings More Help to MSSPs
Expands Capture Cloud Platform, pilots monthly payment plan
Cybersecurity firm SonicWall wants to make life easier for managed security service providers through an expanded suite of offerings for MSSPs and a new monthly payment model.
The Lowdown: The company’s Capture Cloud Platform is designed to enable MSSPs to more easily manage accounts, register products, control licensing, and provide real-time threat analytics to users. The enhancements to the platform will improve oversight, visibility, and management of service providers’ expanding cybersecurity ecosystems, SonicWall officials said.
The Details: The expanded capabilities announced Wednesday include:
> My Workspace: A new management dashboard that can be accessed via a single sign-on into SonicWall’s Capture Security Center. MSSPs can use the dashboard to quickly onboard customers, set up and manage multiple tenants, and set role-based access control, allowing them to more easily manage disparate customer environments.
> Global Management System (GMS) 9.2: The management solution enables MSSPs to manage SonicWall firewalls, wireless security, secure e-mail, and remote customers. It also integrates with the ConnectWise Manager automaton tool, giving users a portal through which they can automate support ticketing, system alerts and failover, and asset synchronization.
> SonicWall Analytics: The software gives MSSPs clear visibility into the network traffic of their customers. In addition, service providers can monitor risk levels of individual customers via custom reporting that MSSPs can brand.
> Pay-as-you-go pricing: The flexible monthly pricing plan is in beta. A pilot program for qualified MSSPs offers such pricing for SonicWall’s Capture Client and Cloud App Security offerings and next year will include a broader array of the vendor’s products and services.
The Impact: In a highly distributed and complex IT environment that’s facing increasingly sophisticated cyberthreats, enterprises and SMBs are looking to service providers to provide security services. A report by MarketsandMarkets predicted that the global managed security service space will grow from more than $24 billion this year to $47.6 billion by 2024.
The Buzz: “MSSPs play an essential role in our expanding partner base as they defend enterprises and SMBs against today’s targeted cyberthreats,” SonicWall President and CEO Bill Conner said. “Our growing SonicWall team continues to work with some of the world’s largest partners and distributors to provide proven managed security services that simplify the daunting task of thoroughly protecting what cybercriminals seek to take. As we move into the new year, we look forward to working with the more than 20,000 SonicWall partners worldwide that are changing the way organizations defend themselves today.”
“Managed security service providers are looking to simplify the already daunting task of providing security for organizations in today’s escalating threat landscape,” said Michael Crean, CEO of Solutions Granted. “Finding a single vendor that can help reduce the complexity of multiple vendors is top of mind when you’re already worrying about other crucial priorities, such as compliance, bandwidth, budget, and more.”
“As a managed security service provider, we’re seeking to reduce the complexity of deploying comprehensive security solutions,” said Stuart Buckley, sales director of managed services for K3. “SonicWall enables us to provide our customers with scalable end-to-end security services managed through a single pane of glass with flexible consumption-based billing.”
