Inceptus the first to offer NC Protect as a managed service to clients
Nucleus Cyber is making its NB Protect technology, which is designed to automatically find and secure unstructured data, available as a managed security service.
The Lowdown: The Boston-based company announced Monday that Inceptus, a managed security service provider, will be the first MSSP to offer the Nucleus Cyber product as a service.
The Details: NC Protect is a content- and context-aware technology that automatically can detect, classify, and secure unstructured data, whether it lives on premises, in the public cloud, or in hybrid cloud environments. It can dynamically adjust the security of files by comparing user context and file content, keeping the use and sharing of files in compliance with an enterprise’s policies. The goal is to enable secure collaboration between organizations by ensuring that files aren’t accessed by unauthorized parties or misused.
Nucleus Cyber offers a number of flavors of NC Protect, including for Microsoft Office 365, Sharepoint, and Teams to Yammer and Dropbox.
Inceptus, which includes commercial and government organizations as customers, will include NC Protect as a managed service and will offer permissions auditing services using the platform to assess user access to the data.
The Buzz: “We are excited to offer our clients Nucleus Cyber’s dynamic data security solution to prevent insider threats and to protect and audit access to their sensitive information,” said John Schlager, CEO and co-founder of Inceptus. “Our customers can now easily add highly granular data security that ensures only authorized personnel who should have access to sensitive information can see it – and control what they can do with that information to prevent data loss and misuse.”
“We welcome Inceptus to our channel program as our first MSSP partner. Inceptus customers can now benefit from dynamic data security to protect their most sensitive and confidential information from rising internal threats, including cyberespionage and misuse by overprivileged users,” Nucleus Cyber CEO Kurt Mueffelmann said. “Inceptus can also leverage the NC Protect platform to audit access and permissions to a customer’s unstructured content to identify and address potential security issues stemming from over-permissioned users.”
