The 2112 Group Releases 2016 Channel Forecast Report

Amid economic uncertainty, solution providers reveal the most optimistic performance outlook in recent history

PORT WASHINGTON, NY – Feb. 23, 2016 – A new report by The 2112 Group that highlights trends in the IT reseller channel reveals a noteworthy development: Solution providers are running increasingly healthy businesses and are less exposed to economic disruptions.

While multiple signs are pointing to financial instability on a global scale this year, that’s not deterring North America solution providers. The 2112 Group’s 2016 Channel Forecast report reveals that more than 90 percent of solution providers believe their 2016 sales and revenue will increase at least 6 percent over what it was in the previous year. By comparison, 73 percent of solution providers polled last summer believed their 2015 sales would end with the same growth over 2014. More significantly, nearly two-thirds of solution providers expect strong double-digit growth in 2016 – again, up over 2015.

In the 2016 Channel Forecast report, details include:

  • Sales and Revenue Growth
  • Acceptable Growth Rates
  • Channel Profitability
  • Levels of Channel Business Acumen
  • Sales Activity Trends
  • Business Models and Value Propositions
  • Channel Population Trends

“A key performance indicator in 2112’s Channel Forecast is acceptable rates of growth – or the minimum positive change over the previous year in gross sales and revenue. The average acceptable growth range increased in the 2016 Channel Forecast to 16 to 25 percent,” said Lawrence M. Walsh, CEO and chief analyst of The 2112 Group. “This elevated acceptable rate of growth shows that solution providers aren’t just confident, but have higher expectations for their businesses. But there’s more to it than just a correlation. If their expectations have changed, that means how they plan to achieve those goals has changed as well – and that’s the real transformation.”
