An increasingly ominous threat landscape has compelled channel service providers to sharpen their focus on security, a market that’s both rife with potential and fraught with risk. Even as the demand for IT security services grows, a solution provider’s failed efforts in this area could be devastating – in lost revenue, damage to reputation, or penalties for running afoul of legal/regulatory requirements.
To help channel players self-assess and get up to speed on security services, Channelnomics joined forces with Ingram Micro to unveil Security Scope in October 2018. The diagnostic tool allows aspiring partners to understand their capabilities and performance relative to established security best practices, and to compare themselves to peers and the IT service industry at large.
Hundreds of channel service decision-makers and practitioners have completed the diagnostic. Their responses – summarized in this report – offer unprecedented visibility into the security capabilities, strengths, weaknesses, and posture of service providers. Armed with these insights, service providers can begin developing, or continue expanding, their security practices strategically, focusing on the areas that most need improvement and seeking out support resources that can help them achieve their goals.
