It should come as no surprise that most solution providers have embraced the cloud by now. Only about 10% of them still identify primarily as hardware or packaged software resellers, and with good reason. According to IDC, cloud spending is expected to jump to nearly $500 billion by 2023 from $229 billion in 2019. That’s a compound annual growth rate of more than 22%.
While we’ve delved into the motivations of the channel in adopting the cloud – and have painted a fairly complete picture of how solution providers see the cloud and their place in it – we haven’t invested much effort in finding out how well the cloud is working out for the business end users served by those solution providers. To better understand the cloud experience from the end user perspective, Channelnomics surveyed 300-plus business decision-makers in a variety of industries. This report uncovers what we found out about end users’ expectations of the cloud, their opinions related to value and quality, and their stance toward solution providers that deliver cloud services.
