Dr. John Spinda oversees the development and execution of research programs at Channelnomics’ expanding research department. He’s an expert in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, mass media communication, digital communication, and project management.
Prior to joining Channelnomics, Spinda was an assistant professor of communication at Clemson University, where he taught a wide variety of courses and executed research projects for publication. He held a similar position at Murray State University and has served on the board of directors of the International Association for Communication and Sport.
Over the course of his academic career, Spinda has earned several awards and honors. He was named Professor of the Year by the communication department at Clemson University. He also received a Top Paper award in sports communication from the International Communication Association and a similar award in applied communication from the National Communication Association.
Spinda, who lives in Greenville, S.C., earned his doctorate in communication studies at Kent State University, his master’s degree in communication education and mass media technologies at Clarion University, and his bachelor’s degree in communication at Clarion University.
